Part I of Keter Shem Tov – the renowned compendium of the Baal Shem Tov's teachings, selected from the books of his disciples, R. Yaakov Yosef of Polonne and the Maggid of Mezeritch. This is one of the first compendiums printed of the teachings of the Baal Shem Tov. The book was published in two parts in Zhovkva, 1794-1795.
The compiler of this book, R. Aharon HaKohen of Żelechów and Apta, authored several popular Chassidic books, including: Or HaGanuz LaTzadikim, the Tefilla Yeshara – Keter Nehora siddur and other books.

Or Olam – Fourth Light – HaDerech HaTov VehaYashar (the good and straight path), a long poem comprising good practices and laws, briefly summarizing the four parts of the Shulchan Aruch and the 613 commandments, by R. Meir Margolies, rabbi of the Lviv region and Ostroh, author of Meir Netivim. Polonne: Schneur son of Betzalel MiGeza Schorr, [1795]. First edition.
This work was written by the author in response to a request by his son R. Shaul Margolies that he briefly summarize the four parts of the Shulchan Aruch. R. Meir wrote a long, alphabetical acrostic poem, forming also his name Meir and the name of his son Shaul, containing all the laws and practices of the four parts of the Shulchan Aruch and the 613 commandments.
The author, R. Meir Margolies (ca. 1707?-1790), a prominent rabbi in his times, and a leading disciple of the Baal Shem Tov.

The author, R. Chaim Ozer HaKohen (1760? – ca. 1820-1830), a Torah scholar of the Brody Kloiz. Lectured in the synagogues and Batei Midrash of Brody for decades.
The book quotes many Torah thoughts heard from Chassidic leaders such as the Baal Shem Tov, the Maggid of Mezeritch, R. Pinchas of Korets, and many others.

Approbations by the Noda BiYehuda, the Haflaah, R. Shaul Rabbi of Amsterdam, and other prominent rabbis.
The author, R. Meshulam Feivish HaLevi Horowitz (b. ca. 1710 – d. Kislev, between 1785 and 1790) was born in Kremenets (Eastern Galicia), and lived there his entire life teaching Torah. The Noda BiYehuda in his approbation uncharacteristically extols his virtues, comparing him to the Torah scholars of early generations.
His daughter married R. Avraham HaMalach, and was the grandmother of R. Yisrael of Ruzhin.

This copy includes six title pages – one at the beginning of each order. The first is a general, illustrated title page. The next two are title pages printed especially for Orders Mo'ed and Nashim (bearing the titles of the orders). The fourth one, bound before Nezikin, is identical to the first illustrated title page. Orders Kodashim and Taharot open with non-illustrated title pages.
The Bibliography of the Hebrew Book records a copy with four title pages only (without title pages of Kodashim and Taharot).

The author, R. Yissachar Dov Ber was a friend and cousin of R. Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev. One of his disciples was R. Chaim of Czernowitz, author of Be'er Mayim Chaim, who describes in his book Eretz HaChaim the Divine Inspiration he witnessed in his teacher.

R. Aryeh Leib Gliener – "Reprover of Polonne" (d. 1770), was among the first disciples of the Baal Shem Tov and disseminator of his teachings. A holy wonder-worker, renowned in his generation as a reputed orator and maggid.

Or HaMeir is one of the first Chassidic books, and contains teachings of the Baal Shem Tov. The author, R. Ze'ev Wolf of Zhitomir was one of the foremost disciples of the Maggid of Mezeritch, and a close disciple of R. Yaakov Yosef of Polonne, R. Nachum of Chernobyl, R. Levi Yitzchak of Berdichev and R. Pinchas of Korets.

Rebbe Asher Tzvi of Ostroh (ca. 1740-1817), a leading disciple of the Maggid of Mezeritch, a holy person and pious kabbalist. Served as a maggid in Ostroh and was known as one of the foremost rebbes of his times. Rebbe and rabbi in Korets from 1804.
