Crown-shaped decoration, advertisement for the "Keter" ("Crown") shoe factory. [Palestine, first half of the 20th century].
Hammered and engraved copper; paint.
Crown-shaped decoration intended as an advertisement of a shoe factory, with the Hebrew and English inscription: "Convenient prices, quality and strength / Keter Shoes". The crown is covered with vegetal and geometric decorations.
The factory's founder, one of the first shoe producers in Palestine, was Yitzhak Hoz, a member of the HaShomer movement.
Length: 38 cm. Maximal width: 42.5 cm, good condition. Worn. Hanging holes, peeling. Framed, unexamined outside of frame.

Jewish Legions - gramophone record with a recording of Ze'ev Jabotinsky and John H. Patterson. New York, June 28, 1940.
Record on the subject of the Jewish battalions, by Ze'ev Jabotinsky and John Patterson.
John Patterson (1867-1947), commander of the "Zion Mule Corps" and later commander of the "38th Battalion of the Royal Fusiliers", was a lifelong supporter of the Zionist Movement. After his military service he maintained friendships with his battalion colleagues, including Ze'ev Jabotinsky, who became his close friend. In 1940, while Jabotinsky was in the United States on a mission of the New Zionist Organization, Patterson was there as well, and they took this opportunity to create the record.

Obverse: a chuppah (Jewish wedding canopy), beneath which is a pair of clasped hands. Above the chuppah, on the left and right, are the coats of arms of Cologne and Frankfurt am Main. On the circumference is a Hebrew inscription reading: "He who finds a Wife finds a Good Thing / 26 Nissan 5660". Reverse: German inscription, surrounded by a wreath.

Miniature medal made by Rouchomovsky. Odessa, [early 20th century].
Obverse: farmers working in the field, above them an inscription reading: "Arise, shine, for your light has come and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you" (Hebrew). Beneath is the artist's signature, "Rouchomovsky Odessa" and the inscription: "I first have declared it to Zion" (Hebrew). On the margins are the verses: "Raise a standard toward Zion, flee for safety, stay not" (Hebrew) and "And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with singing" (Hebrew). Reverse: worshippers at the Western Wall, inside a Star of David-shaped frame and decorations in vegetal motifs. On the margins are the verses: "If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand wither" and "For thy servants hold her stones dear, and have pity on her dust" (Hebrew).
Diameter: 16 mm. Good condition.

On the other side is a Star of David with the word "Zion". · Pin commemorating the 15th anniversary of "CENTOS" - a Jewish umbrella organization of associations for the care of Jewish orphans. · Pin of "Tarbut" school. · Pin part with a large Star of David enclosing a lion. · Pin with the inscription "Aleh Halutz" (Ascend, Pioneer) (no clasp) and additional pin part with identical inscription. · Pin with the inscription "Herzliya Kovel" and a Star of David. · Pin or pendant parts with the Betar emblem.

Commemorative pin granted to the members of the Etzel (Irgun) and Lehi underground movements who were exiled to Africa, upon their release and return to Israel. [ca. 1948].
Brass inlaid with blue enamel. The recto is illustrated with an image of a guard tower behind a barbed-wire fence, surrounded by the Hebrew inscription "The Africa Exiles / 44-48".The verso is embossed with a Star of David and the number 215 (all the pins were individually numbered).
In 1944, the British Mandate authorities in Palestine deported several hundred members of the Etzel and Lehi underground movements to detention camps in Africa. At first, they were interned at a detention camp at Sembel, Eritrea, after which they were transferred to a camp in Carthago, Sudan, then back to Sembel, until finally reaching the detention camp in Gilgil in Kenya, where they were held until their release and return to the nascent State of Israel in July 1948.
Ca. 24X18 mm. Good-fair condition. Fractures and cracks to enamel. Old soldering repairs to clasp.
Included are two books by Yosef Vinitzky (Y. Netz), one of the exiles, reviewing the period of his exile in Africa: · “Two Hundred and Fifty-One (251), From the Diary of an Exile of Zion at the British Detention Camps in Africa.” . Tel Aviv: Yedidim, 1950. Hebrew. With a short dedication in the author's handwriting. · "From Imprisonment to Return (251 part 2: The Exile in Eritrea-Kenya), From the Diary of an Exile of Zion at the British Detention Camps in Africa."
