Mishnayot with the commentaries of the Rambam and of Rabbi Ovadia of Bartenura. Sabbioneta and Mantua, 1559, 1561. Printed by Tuvia Foa and in the printing press of Francisco Philipono by Ya'akov HaCohen of Gazzuolo.
Three Sidrei Mishnah in three volumes: · Seder Zera'im. Sabbioneta, [1559]. · Seder Moed. Sabbioneta, [1559]. · Seder Nashim. Mantua, 1561.
The printing of this edition began in the printing press of Tuvia Foa in Sabbioneta, but was interrupted at the closing of the printing press in 1559. Ya'akov HaCohen, who was initially a partner of the Sabbioneta printing press, transferred the type pieces to Mantua, and the rest of the edition was completed there. It is known that the entire Seder Zera'im was printed in Sabbioneta and Seder Nashim until the end of the Mishnayot were printed in Mantua. However, researchers have various opinions as to the place of the printing of Seder Moed. According to Y. Zena, the printing of Seder Moed began in Sabbioneta as written on the title page, but was completed in Mantua (see: Yeshayahu Zena, When was the printing press of Tuvia Foain Sabbioneta closed. Kiryat Sefer, 7, 1930-1931, pp. 275-276; for information on the printer Tuvia Foa, see: Avraham Ya'ari, Hamadpisim Bnei Foa, in the book Mechkerei Sefer, Jerusalem 1958, p. 323 onwards).
The order of the tractates of this edition differs from the order in earlier editions.
Three volumes. Seder Zera'im: 97 leaves. Seder Moed: 104 leaves. Seder Nashim: 82 leaves. 20.5 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains and wear. Worming. New bindings.
