The drawing is in bold colors in a naïve style. In the center we see the Tablets of the Law, with the text of the Ten Commandments in Hebrew and in English. Around them appear ten individual illustrations. Each illustration depicts one of the Ten Commandments, and is accompanied by a verse.
Approx. 48.5X70 cm. Matted and framed: 67.5X88.5 cm (without the glass). Good condition. Some creases and blemishes (mostly to margins).

The British artist Richard Clifton-Day was particularly known for his illustrations for the covers of western, adventure, fantasy and science-fiction books. This painting appeared on the cover of the book "The Settlers" by Meyer Levin (second book. Published by Sphere, London, 1975), telling the story of an Israeli family of pioneers in the spirit of an American western.
