Wedding souvenir, fine miniature script with ornaments, on a piece of vellum. [Holland], December 1806.
Vellum; ink; copper.
An oval piece of vellum with a greeting written by hand, in fine handwriting, in honor of the marriage of Shlomo Emringen with Bela: "souvenir…in honor of the wedding day, from the groom Shlomo son of Aharon Emringen with the bride Bela daughter of Yehudah…" (Hebrew). The text is written in the shape of arches with a blessing written below the arches. The author is signed on the lower part: "written by the scribe Mendele". Framed in a fine, golden, copper frame with strings for hanging.
Length (including frame): 11 cm, width: 9 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains and creases. Some bends to frame.
