Online Auction 40 - Chabad
Special Chabad auction in honor of Chag HaGeulah of Rebbe Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn, the Rayatz of Lubavitch - 12th-13th Tammuz
This edition was distributed by the rebbe at the Hitvaadut on 11th Nissan 1982 together with a dollar for charity – the present lot includes only the Tanya, without the dollar.
Special edition of the Tanya (edition 164), printed in honor of the eightieth birthday of the Lubavitcher Rebbe – 11th Nissan 1982, and distributed by the rebbe to the participants of the Hitvaadut on that occasion. Towards the end of the Hitvaadut, which lasted five hours, the rebbe explained the idea of this Tanya edition – in order to hasten the coming of Mashiach, it was suggested to print all the Tanya books ever printed throughout the world, in one volume. Indeed, this book contains pictures of the title pages of all editions of the Tanya printed up until then, and facsimiles of Tanya Mahadura Kama manuscripts.

Letter from Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneersohn, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, with his signature. Brooklyn NY, Tammuz (Chodesh HaGeulah) 1974.
Typewritten on the official stationery of the rebbe, with his signature.
Public-private letter (letter sent to several people with the same text), sent shortly before Chag HaGeulah 12th-13th Tammuz, holiday commemorating the liberation of the rebbe's father-in-law, Rebbe Rayatz of Lubavitch from Soviet imprisonment in 1927.
In his letter, the rebbe quotes the words of his father-in-law, the Rayatz: "Not only was I myself redeemed on 12th Tammuz, but all those who cherish the Torah, those who observe mitzvot, and anyone who is called a Jew", and his blessing and encouragement: "To increase efforts in disseminating Torah and strengthening Judaism". In relation to this, the rebbe arouses about "the Five Campaigns: Torah campaign, Tefillin campaign, Mezuzah campaign, Tzedakah campaign and holy books in every home campaign… which are general, each of them shields and brings salvations", and the directives one learns from the redemption of the Rayatz: "When a Jew makes a firm decision in matters of Torah and mitzvot, G-d helps him realize his decision, despite any impediment and obstacle… since after he begins the selected work… he has paved the way for each and every one to improve in that area in strengthening Torah and Judaism… to make an impact on our fellow and on the entire environment".
The rebbe concludes: "With blessings of success in all the above, and with joy and redemption from all matters which obstruct and confound, with blessings for Chag HaGeulah".
At the foot of the letter, there are references and sources for the topics and ideas quoted in the letter.
