Lengthy letter handwritten and signed by Rebbe Shmuel Tzvi Horowitz. Feldafing (DP camp in Germany), Adar 1948.
Most of the letter discusses the assembly of Spinka Chassidim Holocaust survivors in Germany on 7th Adar, with the purpose of unifying the Chassidut in the aftermath of the Holocaust. The rebbe discusses leaving Germany, and writes that the consensus is that one must leave this accursed land, quoting the rebbe of Satmar who stated that one must "not remain in this accursed land for even one week".
Rebbe Shmuel Tzvi Horowitz (1921-1997), grandson of the Chakal Yitzchak of Spinka. After the Holocaust, he led the Spinka chassidim in the East Side and later in Williamsburg, and became close to Rebbe Yoel of Satmar.
