A rare pin with the emblem of the S.H.D (Transportation and Fuel Service) Unit. [Israel, 1947 or 1948].
Pin with the emblem of the S.H.D Unit, the transportation unit of the Haganah organization in Jerusalem, which operated during the late British Mandate period and at the beginning of the 1948 War. The unit was responsible for the operation and maintenance of the vehicles in the Jerusalem district; after the establishment of the IDF, it was attached to the Etzioni Brigade.
Two parts (different metals): a steering wheel-shaped base under a silver-colored sword.
25X35 mm. Good condition.

The unit, established during the 1948 War in order to carry out raids on enemy territory, was initiated and commanded by Moshe Dayan. Among others, it took an important part in "Operation Danny" for conquering the Lod Airport. In 1949 it was dismantled by order of David Ben-Gurion.
Approx. 30X40 mm. Good condition.
