Sefer Zera Yisrael, collection of letters (in German) and sermons (in Hebrew), by Rabbi Yisrael Deitsch, Av Beit Din of congregation of Beiten. Beginning of book contains preface and biography, including eulogies on him by his brother Rabbi David Deitsch, Av Beit Din of Zahari (Silesia). Gleiwitz 1855. Includes portrait of author.
At end of book, poem about wine for Purim, beginning with: “Samchuni Ba’Ashishot, BeKosot Rapduni” and riddle, beginning with: “Rosh Chodashim…”.
Signed inscription (in German) from 1856 by publisher, brother of author, the Ga’on Rabbi David Deitsch Av Beit Din of Myslowice and Zahari, (1810-1873), disciple of the Maharam Benet and the “Chatam Sofer”, author of Asof Asifa, in opposition to assembly of Reformists in Braunschweig, and other books. The author, the Ga’on Rabbi Yisrael Deitsch (1800-1853), Av Beit Din of Beiten (Silesia), son of Rabbi Mordechai Av Beit Din of Zülz; opponent of the Reform movement, corresponded with author of the “Ktav Sofer”, who refers to him in one of his responses as “Warrior in the battle of G-d”.
