Two albums in olivewood bindings, with pressed flowers and pictures from Palestine:
1. "Photographies et fleurs de Terre Sainte / Photographs and flowers of Hl. Land / Photographien und Blumen vom Hl. Lande." [Jerusalem: late 19th century or early 20th century.] English, French and German.
Twelve photogravures, depicting landscapes and sites in Palestine – David's Tomb, the Dome of the Rock, the Western Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Via Dolorosa, the Mount of Olives, and other sites in Jerusalem; Christmas in Bethlehem; the Jordan River, and more. The photogravures are accompanied by twelve pressed flowers arrangements.
Bound in a fine olivewood binding, with a Jerusalem cross carved on one board and "Jerusalem" printed on the other. Leather spine.
[13] ff., 21.5X27.5 cm. Good condition. Stains. Minor blemishes to pressed flowers arrangements. Horizontal crack to one board (minor tear to attached endpaper). Tears to several tissue guards. Abrasions to spine.
2. "Flowers and Pictures of the Holy Land / Fleurs et Gravures de Terre Sainte / Blumen und Bilder v. Hl. Lande." Jerusalem: [late 19th century or early 20th century.] English, French and German.
Large album with twelve photographic prints of Palestine – the Dome of the Rock, Gethsemane, Mount of Olives, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Jaffa, seen from the sea, Hebron, and more, alongside eleven pressed flowers arrangements. Some of the photographs are signed in plate "Hamböck."
Album bound in fine olivewood binding, with a Jerusalem cross on the front board, within a wood marquetry frame, and "Jerusalem" printed both in Hebrew and Latin characters.
