Enchiridion expositionis vocabulorum Haruch, Tharghum, Midrascim, Berescith, Scemoth, Vaicra, Midbar Rabba, et multorum aliorum librorum, by Dominican Sante Pagnini. Printed by Tommaso Strozzi [or, perhaps, by Marcello Silber?], Rome, 1523.
The first printed work by Dominican philologist and Biblical scholar Pagnino (1470-1541) and the only publication printed by Strozzi. According to one hypothesis, the work was printed by Marcello Silber, but the typographical characteristics and woodcuts in the present work did not appear in other publications printed by Silber. Possibly, Pagnini and Strozzi founded a private press in order to print the book. Some of the woodcuts appearing in this lexicon later appeared many times in books printed by the Italian printers Mazzocchi, Vitali, Froben and others.
The lexicon written by Pagnini gained great popularity and was reprinted in several editions in Lyon and Antwerp under the title Epitome thesauri linguae sanctae.
