Shaarei Avodah, foundations of worship of G-d according to Kabbalah and Chabad Chassidic teachings, by Rebbe Aharon HaLevi Segal Horowitz of Starosel'ye. Shklow, [1821]. First edition.
The book endeavors to explain the fundamentals of the worship of G-d, based on the principles of the Arizal's doctrine, as received by the author from his prime teacher, the Baal HaTanya.
[14], 12, 17-49, 52, 70, 60, 22 leaves. Lacking [2] leaves at beginning of book with abbreviations and errata. 16.5 cm. Bluish paper. Most leaves in good condition. Stains, including dampstains and dark stains. Worming, affecting text. Open tears to title page, affecting text, repaired with paper (and photocopy replacement). Closed and open tears to other leaves, repaired in part with paper. Inscriptions, signature and stamps. New leather binding.
The books of Rebbe Aharon of Starosel'ye were not reprinted for many years, and are therefore considered rare.
