The postcards show the town flooded with water as well as the rescue efforts.
Approx. 8000 Jews lived in Dzisna (a city in the Vitebsk region of Belarus, on the bank of the Daugava River) before World War II, constituting most of its population.
One of the postcards, depicting the flooded cemetery, was sent to the physician Dr. Zemach Shabad in Vilnius several days after the flood. Several of the postcards are stamped with the photographer's stamp.
Size varies, 7.5X12.5 cm on average. Good overall condition. Stains and minor blemishes.
