Four signatures of R. Daniel Prostitz on the endpaper and first leaf. Inscriptions and markings in a later script, presumably in preparation for reprinting the book.
R. Daniel Prostitz (1759-1846), disciple of Maharam Barby Rabbi of Pressburg, and dayan in Pressburg in the times of R. Meshulam Igra. A close friend of the Chatam Sofer, he initiated the latter's appointment as rabbi of Pressburg.
47-63 leaves. Misfoliation. 34 cm. Fair-good condition. Stains, including large dampstains. Wear. New binding.
