Non-Traditional Haggadah. [Kibbutz Hanita], 1944.
Mimeographed typescript on thin paper.
The Haggadah opens with excerpts from the traditional text, and continues on a humoristic note, describing the kibbutz members' "enslavement" to their land. Later, it refers to the hardships endured by Jews in the diaspora throughout the ages, relates the hopes of their revival and redemption in the land of Israel, parodies the liturgical poem Dayenu, celebrates the kibbutz's offspring, and ends with quotes from the Song of Songs and the prophecy of Isaiah.
[1] front cover, [13] ff., [1] back cover (blank), 29 cm. Good-fair condition. Thin, transparent paper. Fold lines and creases. Stains. Minor closed and open tears, mostly to margins and back cover.
Rare. Not listed in OCLC and the NLI catalogue, nor in Steiner's "Kibbutz Haggadot" catalogue.
