Melo HaRo'im, two parts, methodology of the Talmud and poskim, by R. Yaakov Zvi Yolles rabbi of Dinov (Dynów). Zhovkva, 1838. First edition.
With four scholarly glosses handwritten by R. Uri Landman of Strelisk, three of them signed "Uri". Six scholarly glosses in a different handwriting, three of them signed "Ze'ira Pinchas" and one signed with the initials "M.Z.P." (seemingly alluding to Ze'ira Pinchas). This may be the handwriting of his brother and son-in-law R. Pinchas Landman of Ocna.
The author, Rebbe Yaakov Zvi Yolles rabbi of Dinov (1778-1825), prominent Galician Torah leader and rebbe. Close disciple of the Chozeh of Lublin, the Maggid of Kozhnitz and R. Mendel of Rimanov.
Rebbe Uri Landman of Strelisk (1838-1917) and his younger brother R. Pinchas of Ocna (1849?-1929) were renowned Torah scholars and both served in a number of rabbinical positions in Poland and Romania.
Stamps on title page, partially deleted, of "Yaakov Koppel…" (perhaps these are the stamps of R. Yaakov Koppel Landman, Rebbe of Kuty-Ternopil, brother of R. Uri and R. Pinchas).
