Lengthy Halachic letter in handwriting and signature of the Ga’on Rabbi Moshe Feinstein, to Rabbi Chaim Mednick [rabbi in Chicago]. New York, Adar [1947].
The letter deals with a number of Halachic matters (of which three responses were edited in the Igrot Moshe Responsa: Orach Chaim 1, Siman 7; Orach Chaim 1, Siman 163; Choshen Mishpat 1, Siman 94). The letter contains an interesting description of his busy daily schedule as Rosh Yeshiva and Halachic authority: “… please be informed, my friend, that I am barely available since I am in the Yeshiva the entire day, and New York is a large metropolitan; so even the few who come to discuss Torah matters are many…”.
Lengthy letter, written on both sides (approx. 50 lines). 27 cm. Good-fair condition, stains, mildew and folding marks.
