Large handwritten leaf, with an inscription for a tombstone, including a rhymed poem. Allersheim (Germany), 1868. Prepared for the tombstone of Rabbi Netanel Gavriel Weisbort, who died on the 17th of Cheshvan 1868. In the text, he is called: The tsaddik and pious Torah authority and burier here in Allersheim Rabbi Netanal Gavriel Weisbort son of Rabbi Ze’ev of Schweinzhoften”. The leaf includes a poem in rhyme, 11 lines, with the name of the deceased in an acrostic: “Netanel Gavriel”. Written in the poem: “Tsaddik son of a tsaddik”, conducted himself “in piety and purity”, “Teacher of disciples”, “Torah authority of his congregation and its vicinity”, etc. 48.5X99 cm. Fair condition. Ink erosion tears, with damages to text. Wear, creases and stains.
