“Be’ezrat HaShem Yitbarach MiKiryat Arba hi Hevron…” (with G-d’s help from Kiryat Arba – Hebron…) – Emissary letter for a mission on behalf of the Jewish settlement in Hebron and the Cave of the Patriarchs. [Italy, Venice?], ca. 1767. Printed emissary letter for the emissaries Rabbi Yitzchak Zeevi and Rabbi Chaim Rachamim Bajayo leaving on a mission to collect money for the Cave of the Patriarchs and the Jewish Settlement in Hebron, when debts reached the amount of 25,000 piezas. On top of the letter appear, in enlarged characters, names of several countries, including America: France, Holland, England and America. The Chida is also mentioned in the letter. This letter was written in 1763 and was signed by 32 people of Hebron, amongst them the Shadar Rabbi Amram Ben Dewan. Later, a letter from the sages of Hebron in Constantinople was written, and after that – a letter of recommendation from Venetian rabbis, written in 1767. [2] leaves, 33.5 cm. Fair condition. Stains.
