Collection of about 3600 bookplates (Ex Libris). [Europe, United States and Palestine, 19th and 20th centuries].
An extensive collection which includes numerous European bookplates from the first half of the 20th century, including: engravings and original prints (some signed by the artist), numerous bookplates of institutes and public libraries, and more.
Many of the bookplates in this collection include illustrations with Jewish motifs, were created for Jewish collectors or illustrated by Jewish artists (among them dozens of bookplates designed by Budko, Struck, Lilien, Starck, Seelenfreund, and other well known artists). Some of the items appear in several copies.
Enclosed are a number of articles and catalogues about bookplates.
Size and condition vary. Some bookplates are partly attached to paper sheets.
