Handwritten sonnet in memory of "the honored elder, humble and worthy, R. David Galiko", by R. David Avraham Chai. [Ancona, 19th century].
Square vowelized handwriting. Sonnet (14 lines), beginning with "Everything has its time, in the words of the scholar (King Solomon)…"
The sonnet was written in honor of the son of the deceased, "the honored young man… Yaakov Yisrael Galiko". It is signed: "These are the words of David… The young David Avraham Chai Set". The author is evidently R. David Avraham Chai Vivanti, rabbi of Ancona (see enclosed material).
