Ketubah. Damascus (Syria), 15th Tammuz 1898.
The text of the ketubah is scribed at the foot of the leaf within a rectangular frame containing verses of blessings. A large flowerpot surmounts the frame, with flowering branches covering most of the ketubah. Two additional flowerpots flank the ketubah text. The leaf is framed with a floral border. The flowerpots and corner ornaments are made from cutouts backed with gold colored paper.
With additional conditions undertaken by the groom, in following with the Damascene rite.


Approx. 45X65 cm. Good condition. Stains. Folding marks. Framed; not examined out of frame.
