Approx. 30 guidebooks for Palestine, some of them early and rare. Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv, London and elsewhere, 19th and 20th centuries. Hebrew and English (one German guidebook).
Most of the books are accompanied by maps marking paths and roads and some include printed pictures, data tables, lists of settlements, geographic dictionary, transcriptions of the names of Arab settlements into Hebrew, and more.
Among the guidebooks: Palestine and Syria, edited by K. Beadeker (London, 1876; the first English edition of the "Beadeker Guide" for Palestine). * Handbook for travelers in Syria and Palestine, published by John Murry (London, 1874). * Palestine and Southern Syria, Travelogue (Hebrew) by Yeshayahu Peres (Jerusalem, Berlin and Vienna, 1921). * The Book of Palestine (Hebrew) by Henry Charles Locke and Edward Keith-Roach (Jerusalem, 1924). * And guidebooks by Zev Vilnay, David Benveniste, Shmuel Goren and others.
