Crown for Torah scroll. [Europe, 19th or 20th century].
Silver, cast, repoussé, stamped and engraved. Marked: 800 and maker's mark: Simeone (?).
An impressive Torah crown, decorated with vegetal motifs - acanthus leaves, flowers and branches. Surmounted by a smaller crown with a heraldic lion on top, holding a rod with three bells. Engraved at the bottom: "Donated by Ya'akov…".
Length: 34 cm, diameter of base: 17 cm. Maximum diameter: 28 cm.

Crown for Torah scroll. [Morocco, Algeria or Tunisia, first half of the 20th century].
Pierced and engraved silver.
This crown has been designed to accompany a Torah scroll case and originally had an opening and closing mechanism (missing). The crown is made of a dozen single plates designed as gates, originally attached to each other with hinges (missing). Each of the gates is decorated with pierced vegetal motifs, and with chiseled line decorations. At the top of each gate is a clover-shaped crown.
Length: 14.5 cm, width: 115 cm. Holes to plate margins (for attaching the hinges). Missing hinges and clasp. All the plates are mounted on a green velvet fabric.

Pair of Torah finials. [Iraq, late 19th or early 20th century].
Cast and engraved silver.
Pair of finials. Chains with bells at their ends hang from the top part of the finials. Engraved on the shaft of one of the finials is the inscription (Hebrew): "The deceased Yehezkel Yitzhak Shlomo Binyamin, may he rest in peace".
Height: 17 cm, 18 cm. The finials differ slightly from each other in the number of chains and their size. Two chains missing from one of the finials. Slight defects to bells and finial shafts.

Pair of finials, adorned with slender strips of decorations in repetitive geometric motifs. Engraved on both finials is the dedication: "To… the memory of Esther daughter of Avraham and Banha…". Attached to the bottom of the body are metal loops for hanging chains with bells (chains and bells missing).
Height: 21 cm. The finials slightly differ from each other in their decorations. Soldering repairs. Missing chains. Bends.

1-2. Pair of finials, style characteristic of the place and period, decorated with flowers and two rows of bells. Height: 10.5 cm. Good condition. Some bends. Four missing bells.
3. Torah shield, made of a hammered and engraved silver plate and decorated with a pair of lions holding the Tablets of the Law, a Torah crown and decorations in vegetal motifs. Attached to reverse are three loops and a chain for hanging. Length: 8.5 cm, width: 6.5 cm. Good condition.
4. Torah pointer. At its tip are a loop and chain. Length: 10 cm.

Beneath the Tablets is an opening for changeable plaques and beneath it is a vegetal decoration and a cartouche (engraved, inscription unclear). At the top of the shield is a crown surmounting curtains and fringes. On the right and left margins are pairs of roaring lion heads. The surface is punched with tiny dots. On the reverse are three loops and a chain for hanging.
We know of similar shields created in Vienna in the late 19th century, but this shield was possibly created in Romania.
Length: 32 cm, width: 25 cm. Good condition. Missing plaques.

The surface is punched with tiny dots and the margins are decorated with rocailles and vegetal motifs. On the reverse are three loops and a chain for hanging.

Silver, sawn, repousée and engraved; blue gem stone.
Rectangular shield with a dome on top. Hebrew inscription engraved on top: "donated by Hachnasat Orchim Society in 1861". Beneath it are the inscription "Torah Crown" (Hebrew), Tablets of the Law (engraved) and a crown-like decoration. A blue gem stone is set above the Tablets of the Law. Geometric decorations and two flower vases with leaves and flowers are engraved on the left and on the right side. A Star of David appears on top of the shield (it is possible that it was added at a later date). Suspension chain.
Length: 16 cm, width: 11.5 cm. Good condition. Two pinholes (missing gemstones?) on the sides and a blocked pinhole in the center. Some soldering repairs, old. Stains.

Soldered at the top is a crown surmounting the engraved inscription (Hebrew) "David, King of Israel, lives and exists". Engraved at the bottom is the inscription (Hebrew) "Tower of David", surmounting five soldered loops with bells suspended from them (three of the bells are shaped as pomegranates). At the margins of the top part are two soldered loops and a chain for hanging.
