R. Chaim Shalom HaLevi Segal (1918-1983), sixth generation from the Baal HaTanya. Founder and mashpia at the Chabad synagogue Beit Yehudah in the Mazkeret Moshe neighborhood in Jerusalem, and lecturer in the Etz Chaim yeshiva. He studied Rashi's commentary on the Torah for decades, and published his works Tosefet Rashi on the Tanach, Munachei Rashi and Yitron HaOr. On his visit to the Rebbe's court on Shmini Atzeret 1970, he was appointed the delegate from Israel as part of the "Chassidic United Nations".

Yitzchak Levi, confirming receipt of a pidyon for Baruch son of Esther, and asking him for periodical updates on his status in service of G-d, Torah study and performance of mitzvot, congratulating him in advance.
At the end of the letter the Rebbe adds in his handwriting:

Addressed to R. Yitzchak Levi, in response to his letter on his wife's pregnancy. The Rebbe offers him guidance, quoting the Rebbe Rayatz's aphorism "not to tell 'until she enters the fifth month'", and tells him to check the mezuzot in his home and for his wife to donate tzedakah to the fund of R. Meir Baal HaNes on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays before candle-lighting, while he should take care to study Chumash, Tehillim and Tanya. He goes on to bless his wife that the pregnancy and birth should go well and easily and at the right time.

Addressed to R. Yitzchak Levi, discussing his health condition and advising him to avoid things that cause him mental distress, based on Chassidic and ethical works: "When you think even for a moment about how you merit to work in an institution founded by the Rebbe [Rayatz], my father-in-law, the prince of Israel, and an institution that brings Jewish girls closer to their father in heaven, this pleasure is enough to offset and perhaps even cancel out the causes of mental distress involved in working in that institution".
The Rebbe goes on to discuss the livelihood of his brother-in-law, blessing him for it to improve and asking for updates on the situation, and the birth of two girls in his family, blessing them to raise them "to Torah, marriage and good deeds", mentioning the famous Chabad practice in the name of the Rebbe Rashab to use the formula "to Torah" even upon the birth of a girl. He concludes with a Mazal Tov blessing.

The recipient of the letter,

In winter 1940, he was one of the few to accompany the Rebbe Rayatz on the ship that left Nazi-occupied Europe for the United States. He served for over 50 years as head secretary of the Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch and member of Agudat Chassidei Chabad and Machaneh Yisrael. He was also involved in Kehot Publication Society. He authored and edited dozens of Chabad books in English and Yiddish.

Kuntres 11 Nisan – 1990, with dollar bill for charity, distributed by Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe. Brooklyn, New York: Kehot, [1990]. "200th birthday of the Tzemach Tzedek – 40 years of the Lubavitcher Rebbe's leadership".
On the evening of 11th Nisan, 1990, on the occasion of his 88th birthday, the Lubavitcher Rebbe distributed copies of the present booklet, along with dollar bills for charity. The distribution was held in the Rebbe's home, after the Maariv prayer.
The distribution ceremony of the present booklet is described in Kovetz LeChizuk HaHitkashrut – 29 (pp. 33-34). The Rebbe distributed to men, women and children the Kuntres 11 Nisan wrapped in a fine, light-blue cover with a dollar bill inside it, with a blessing for the upcoming Pesach holiday. The distribution was not announced in advance. After the distribution was completed at 11: 15 p.m., the audience went to 770 for a large Farbrengen until daybreak.

Kuntres Maamarim 5682, along with two one-dollar bills for charity, received from Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe. Brooklyn, New York: Kehot, 1992. "The Rebbe's ninetieth year".
The booklet, printed at the behest of the Lubavitcher Rebbe on the occasion of the yahrzeit of his father-in-law the Rebbe Rayatz on 10th Shevat, contains three Chassidic discourses delivered by the Rayatz in 1921, which had been in manuscript. A portrait of the Rebbe Rayatz is printed at the beginning of the booklet, and facsimiles of the copyist's manuscript and a brief biography of the Rebbe Rayatz are printed at the end.
The distribution ceremony of the present booklet and dollars are described in Kovetz LeChizuk HaHitkashrut – 29 (pp. 66-68). On the night of 10th Shevat, 1992, the Rebbe distributed the present booklet along with two dollars for charity. The Rebbe distributed about 7000 booklets over the course of three hours, giving brief blessings. The Farbrengen held afterwards began with the study of a section from the newly distributed booklet.
