Typewritten on the Rebbe's official stationery, with his signature:
"M.Schneerson"; with lines added by hand.
The letter was sent about three months after the Rebbe assumed leadership of Chabad, to R. Yitzchak Levi, confirming receipt of a pidyon for Baruch son of Esther, and asking him for periodical updates on his status in service of G-d, Torah study and performance of mitzvot, congratulating him in advance.
At the end of the letter the Rebbe adds in his handwriting:
"He should be brought to a Chassidic farbrengen, which would work, as general preliminaries, in an indirect way. [Wishing] success on the above, and respectfully – M.Schneerson".
This letter has not been published in the Lubavitcher Rebbe's Igrot Kodesh.
