"Zion, will You not Ask after the Welfare of Your Illegal Prisoners" (Hebrew), a brochure issued by "Pidyon Shvuyim – the Refugees' Redemption Fund of the Jewish council in Palestine", Jerusalem, [ca. 1939]. Hebrew, German and English.
A trilingual brochure (folded) calling to bring Jewish refugees to Palestine: "Jew! Remember your duty to those who escaped the concentration camps and are now cast about on the seas. Help to find a shelter for them in the Homeland!"
The brochure includes a poem by Wystan Hugh Auden, describing the terrible distress of the European Jews under the Nazi threat, as well as three photographs – Jews in Germany wearing prison uniforms, the Assimi Panama illegal immigrant ship at sea, and new immigrants upon their arrival to Palestine.
On the title page of the brochure is an illustration (woodcut by the artist Ester Berlin-Yoel depicting illegal immigrants on board a ship.
