Two drawings by Uriel Kahana (1903-1965) - advertising sketches. [Late 1920s or early 1930s].
1. Sketch for "Jaffa Oranges". Ink and watercolor on thin paper. Signed in upper right corner: "Uriel". At the top of the leaf is an illustration of an orange crate alongside the word "Pardes". At the bottom are the words "Palestine" and "Oranges". In the catalogue "The Last of a Generation: Uriel Kahana - Architect, Painter, Designer" (Tel Aviv, 2003), the illustration is described as a poster for "Jaffa Oranges". [1] leaf, 29 cm, mounted at all four corners on an additional leaf. Good condition. Creases. Stains and small tears to margins.
2. Sketch for the French cosmetics company Houbigant (advertisement for a lipstick produced by the company). Pencils on thin paper. [1] leaf, 29 cm. Good-fair condition. Folding marks and creases. Stains. Tears to margins.
