Twenty three checks issued by "Anglo-Palestine Bank", from the founding of the bank until the establishment of the State of Israel. Tel-Aviv, Jaffa, Jerusalem, Tiberias, London and elsewhere. Early 20th century through the 1940s.
Among them: three checks from the first decade of the 20th century; check from 1920 hand-signed by Meir Dizengoff – order to transfer ten thousand Egyptian Piastres to the archaeologist Yosef Algavish; check on a special form of the "Jewish Agency" – transfer of one thousand Palestine Pounds to Ein Harod during the War of Independence (May 1948); two checks issued by the Jewish Colonial Trust (that managed the bank in its early days); checks from branches in "Tiberias", "Hadar-Carmel", "Hadarom Branch" and more branches; and more.
Most checks are filled-in by hand, with ink-stamps and postage stamps. Some are hand-signed on the back.
