Souvenir note with two greetings, handwritten by Ze'ev Jabotinsky. Bălți (North Moldavia), 1925/1926 and 1939.
Written in the first greeting: "To my friend Yerahmiel Yaffe, in memory of our meeting in Bălți 1925" and in the second note he added: "and for eternity. Bălți, 1939". Next to both greetings appears Jabotinsky's handwritten signature.
The dedication was written in honor of engineer Yerahmiel Yaffe, head of the Jewish congregation in Bălți in the 1930s and a Zionist revisionist. Ze'ev Jabotinsky visited Bălți three times; in 1925 he delivered his famous speech: "Put an end to the Diaspora, if not - the Diaspora will put an end to you". His next visit to the town was on the eve of WW II. Enclosed is an original envelope. Note 7X11.5 cm. Stains. Tears at margins.
