Leaf with signed ownership inscription "…Moshe of Zalshin…". Kislev, 1820.
The Holy Rabbi Moshe of Zalshin, son of Rabbi Gershon (1789-1831, Encyclopedia of Chassidut, III, pp. 183-186), author of Sidur "Tikunei Shabat" (see item 80), "Mishpat Zedek" commentary on Tehilim (see item 270), and "Ge'ulat Yisrael" on Pesach Hagadah, printed in tens of editions.
In approbations to his books the writers mentions Rabbi Moshe's well known piety and righteousness". Rabbi Akiva Eiger described him as "Zadik" "An exalted scholar". Rabbi Ephraim Zalman Margaliot referred to him as "a pitifull holy rabbi". The Seer of Lublin mentioned his total devotion to G-d since the age of ten years.
There is disagreement concerning the fact whether the Holy Rabbi Moshe of Zalshin was a disciple of the Seer of Lublin (see attached material). His son, Rebbe Ya'akov Aharon of Zalshin Av-Beit-Din Aleksander, was a disciple of the Seer of Lublin and of Rabbi Bunim of Peshischa (see Encyclopedia of Chassidut, II, p. 162). Rabbi Yossef Gershon Av-Beit-Din Dewhart, his other son, served as Admor either (Encyclopedia of Chassidut, II, p. 140).
Leaf 14.5 cm, good condition, slight damages.
