Album with 12 black and white photographs, documenting the settlement of the Kibbutzim Ein HaKoreh (later on "Sha'ar HaGolan") and Masada. Palestine, 1937.
The photographs depict the preparations prior to settlement, constructing the walls around the settlements, constructing watch towers, a group photograph, and more.
An inscription written by hand (English) appears at the beginning of the album, according to which the photographs document the establishment of the abovementioned Kibbutzim, located near Zemach in the Jordan Valley, on March 21, 1937.
Total of 12 photographs: 9X6 cm. Album (soft cover): 8.5X11 cm. Good condition. Ownership inscription on inner side of back cover. Few stains on the cover.

1. Photographs of two boys on a carriage. Ink-stamped on verso with photographer's stamp – "Photo Dr. Gidal".
2-3. Two photographs of boys during a lesson. On verso of one appears a handwritten inscription: "Alonim / Aliyat HaNo'ar". See similar photograph in the catalogue "Nachum Tim Gidal, photographs 1929-1991", Tefen Open Musuem, 1992 (photograph no. 201).
4. Photographs of boys playing a game.
Size and condition vary. Average size: 17.5X12 cm. Good overall condition. Slight defects. Three of the photographs are mounted on thick paper sheets. Remnants of glue and marks of removal from the paper sheet on the back of the fourth photograph. Inscriptions on back of two photographs.

About 40 photographs arranged in an album which belonged, presumably, to a French soldier during World War II. Palestine and other locations, [ca. early 1940s].
The album includes: photographs of sites in Jerusalem (Tower of David, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Mount of Olives); group photographs of soldiers in various sites in the Middle East; photograph of a camel rider wearing Arab Legion uniform; different photographs of local population; photographs of vessels, harbors and beaches; photographs of towers and buildings in the Middle East; and more.
About half of the photographs are titled by hand on the margins of leaves (French, some of the titles do not match the photographed site). Judging by the soldiers uniform, the titles on the margins of leaves and the photographed sites, the album may have belonged to a soldier in the Free France Forces, whose units operated in Palestine and the Middle East during World War II.
Approx. size of photographs: 8.5X6.5 cm. Condition varies. Good overall condition. Slight damage. Album: approx. 10.5X8 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains and defects.

Twenty-four small photographs of teachers at the Hebrew Gymnasium "Herzliya" are mounted on the album leaves.
Most of the photographs were taken during classes or in the school's corridors. Among the photographed: Haim Bograshov (one of the founders of "Organization of Hebrew Gymnasium in Palestine", served as teacher and principal of the school), mathematics teacher Avraham Baruch, Hebrew teacher Shmuel Perlman, English teachers Reuven Grossman and Marc Levin, biology teacher Dr. Dvora Eilon-Sireni, history teacher Moshe Burstein, and others. The photographs are titled by hand on the album leaves. On the last leaf of the album appears the inscription "End [of the year] with the teachers".
24 photographs. Most photographs are approx. 3.5X4 cm (one 6X9 cm photograph). Hand-made album (Bristol leaves and paper wrapper, stapled), 17X12 cm, in blank paper cover. Good overall condition.

Album with 31 photographs documenting military parades which took place in Tel Aviv in 1949. Most of the photos present two military parades which took place in Tel Aviv. * First Independence Day parade, May 4, 1949, which was dubbed "the parade which did not parade", due to its suspension shortly after it begun. * IDF parade day, July 1949, anniversary of Herzl's death. Subjects of the photos: IDF military units with horses and mules, women and minorities units, units of military half-tracks and cannons, gathering of onlookers, etc.
In addition, the album contains several photos of another military parade (presumably, the 1953 Independence Day parade which took place in Haifa).
Handwritten descriptions and dates appear on the verso of some photographs with the name of the photographer "Moshe Oster". Some photos are titled by hand on the album leaves.
Total of 31 photos. Size varies, average size: 6X9 cm. Size of (hardcover) album: 27X33 cm. Overall good-fair condition. Photos in good condition. Several lacking photos. Minor damages. 31 photographs of Jerusalem and the State of Israel during the War of Independence. Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa and other places, [ca. 1947-1948].
Among the photographs: An Egyptian plane felled on the Tel Aviv seashore; a unit of horsemen of the Givati Division near Gadera; briefing Israeli pilots before an attack; a girl offering a flower to a tank driver in Jaffa; injured patients in hospitals; residents leaving shelled Jerusalem neighborhoods; honor guard next to the coffins of the pilots George Berling and Yehuda Leib (Leonard) Cohen; Photo of a Palmach soldier surrounded by children, inscribed on verso: "1948 was like this" [possibly, the photo was prepared for printing in a newspaper or designed to appear on the front cover of a book]; etc.
The photos are stamped on their verso with the ink-stamps of the photographers: "Hans Chaim Pinn"; "B. [Boris] Carmi"; "D. Rubinger"; "Eisenstark J. Y." [Yehuda]; "Ben Rothenberg"; "Robert Mühlstok"; "Efi-Pix" [Efraim Ilani?]; and other stamps.
Most of the photos bear handwritten descriptions on their verso, some have instructions for publication and credit.
Enclosed: Two photographs taken during the protest opposing MacDonald's White Paper which took place in Tel Aviv in 1939, by the photographer Hans Chaim Pinn.
Size and condition vary. Overall good-fair condition. Scratches, creases and defects. Stains on verso. Pinholes to edges of four photos. A long tear to the edges of one photo.

They document sanitation hazards, development works, buyers and sellers in the Carmel Market and in the wholesale market; the Neve Tzedek and Hatikva neighborhoods, Dizengoff St., Yehuda HaLevi St., Carlebach St., construction of Migdal Shalom, Elu Metziot Alley (a piece of paper designed like a street sign with the name of the alley is pasted unto the photo), wagon-drivers protesting at the Malchei Yisrael Square, Independence Park in Tel Aviv, etc. Most of the photographs are titled and dated on verso and stamped with the photographers' stamps: Assaf Kutin, Paul Goldman, Hans Finn, Zvi Glaser, Yehuda Freidin, Ya'akov Aviel, Reuven Castro, Arie Kanfer, Yitzchak Beraz, Shlomo Lavi, Yosef Lior, and others.
The title "By Aharon Dolev" appears on one photo (titled on verso "Hatikva neighborhood").
34 photos, 7.5X10.5 cm. to 15.5X22 cm. Overall good condition. Some are folded and one has an open tear in the folding crease. Tears along folding creases. Creases. Few defects.

1-4. Photographs of the Machlul hut neighborhood by the Tel Aviv seashore. After the neighborhood was evacuated during the 60s, Atarim Square was constructed in its place. The title "Machlul neighborhood, last palpitations by Menachem Talm[i]" appears on one photo. 1965, 1967. The photos are titled, dated and stamped with the photographer's stamp on verso.
15-19. Photographs from the Shevut Yam transit camp (Beit Lid), described as "Mother of transit camps" on the verso of some of them. The difficult living conditions of the camp and its evacuation are portrayed in these photos. All are titled on verso and most are dated and stamped by the photographers (some bear the photographer's name written by hand; several photographs are not signed or stamped).
9X12.5 cm to 16.5X22 cm. Overall good condition. Few stains.
