Poster issued by Seine-et-Oise département authorities - declaring a Jewish community census. Jews are obliged to declare all real estate properties which they own, according to an official order from July 31,1941. La Gutenberg printing press. Versailles, 1941. French.
The notice ends with a warning that whoever will not declare his property, or will present a false declaration, risks imprisonment in a special detention camp, even if he is French.
In July 1941 the Vichy government started a wide scope "Aryanisation" plan, during which Jewish property was confiscated by the state. During this period about 42,000 Jewish enterprises were confiscated including buildings and other property. 60X90 cm. Good condition. Folding marks, stains and minor tears.
