Illustrated Passover Haggadah, in Hebrew and translation in "Leshon Ashkenazim", with the Tzeli Esh commentary. Venice: Vendramin, 1740.
Large-format Haggadah. Some words on title page printed in red.
Each page of text enclosed in a fine decorative border. Many woodcut illustrations.
This Haggadah was printed in three editions simultaneously, one with a Judeo-Italian translation, one with Ladino translation, and the third (the present edition) described on the title page as being in "Hebrew and Leshon Ashkenazim". Despite this description on the title page, the present edition also comprises a Judeo-Italian (and not Yiddish) translation. The only difference between the "Italian" edition and "Leshon Ashkenazim" edition is in the text of Birkat HaMazon, in the latter it follows the Ashkenazi rite.
[26] leaves. Approx. 34 cm. Fair-good condition. Stains. Tears and open tears to title page and other leaves, affecting title frame, text and illustrations, repaired with paper filling. Margins of many leaves repaired with paper filling. New binding.
Yaari 116; Otzar HaHaggadot 188.
