A letter by Moses Montefiore to David Shlomo Ben Ya'akov Bleiberg. Written by a scribe on official stationery, with Montefiore's Hebrew signature (in square letters). London, [1877].
The letter deals with money Moses Montefiore had received from David Shlomo Ben Ya'akov of Cardiff (England), a donation for the Jewish Yishuv of Jerusalem. Montefiore announces that he had sent the donation of 7.5 pounds to the rabbis of Jerusalem and it will be distributed as follows: 2.12 pounds for Ma'ot Chitim for Passover (charity given before Passover to help needy families buy Matzah and other necessities for the festival), 2.12 pounds for Hachnasat Kalah (charity to dower a bride) and 2.10 pounds for the charity fund of Rabbi Meir Ba'al HaNes.
