A decorated shell case. Jerusalem, ca. 1917.
Engraved brass; chiseled.
The case is decorated with a repetitive pattern of pillars, with a star-of-David at the head of each pillar among vegetal decorations. Above the pillars there is a band with the Hebrew legend: "In memory of the conquest of Jerusalem the 24th of Kislev 1918". On the bottom of the case appear the name of the manufacturer -"Patronenfabrik Karlsruhe", the year of manufacture - 1916, and an Arabic legend.
Height: approx. 28cm. Good condition. Scratches. Color stains. Minor bends. Corrosion on the inside.
