An album dedicated to the works of Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944) during the years 1901-1913, with 64 reproduction plates, some showing one work and some showing several works side by side. The titles of the works are printed beneath them, alongside their size, and in some cases, the name of the collection to which they belong and its location. The album begins with a poem, "An Kandinsky" ("To Kandinsky"), by the Dutch poet Albert Verwey. It closes with an autobiographic composition by Kandinsky titled "Rückblicke" ("Retrospectivity") as well as commentary ("Notizen") on some of the works included in the album.
Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944), a painter and art theorist, born in Russia. One of the pioneers of abstract art. His philosophy is one of the pillars of art history in modern times.
