Opening: $150
Unsold
Two pins designed by Bezalel artists:
1. A pin with the portrait of Mendele Mocher Sfarim, designed by Meir Gur-Arieh (Signed in Hebrew "M.G."). [Jerusalem, 1918]. The portrait appears in the center of the pin, under it the Hebrew legend "Mendele M.S." and on both its sides, the Hebrew years of his life, 1836-1918. On verso of the pin appears the Hebrew legend "The Teachers Association Jerusalem", for which the pin was made.
Diameter: 27 mm. Good condition. The welding points of the pin on verso hide part of the legend.
2. "HeChalutz" pin made by Shmuel Krechmer, after the image of the plowman by Erich Goldberg, which appeared on the binding of the second Golden Book of the JNF.
In the center of the pin there is a farmer in Biblical-like attire, plowing with a pair of oxen towards the rising sun. On the lower part appears the Hebrew legend "HeChalutz". Signed "S. Krechmer" (Hebrew).
Diameter: 25 mm. Good condition.
Provenance: The Rimon Family Collection.
