On title-page and in front of it, ink-stamp: "Shimon Yisrael Posen Av-Beit-Din Sopron", above it a faded signature "…Yehuda Po…".
Rabbi Shimon Yisrael Posen (1894-1969), was born in Frankfurt and moved to Hungary where he was drawn to Chasidut, and was a student of the "Minchat Elazar" of Munkatsch. One of the leaders of Orthodox Jewry and zealots in Hungary. After the holocaust he immigrated to the United States, where he established a yeshivah and became one of the leading Charedi rabbis in the United States.
