Tikkun Leil Shavuot, on a gevil scroll. [Yemen?/Jerusalem?, ca. 19th/20th century].
Yemenite Stam scripts, on a dark-red gevil scroll. Placed in a fabric covered wooden case.
The scroll only comprises the first part of Tikkun Leil Shavuot – the beginning and end of the Torah portions, without the rest of the books of the Bible. Lacking first membrane (beginning of Book of Bereshit until middle of Parashat Miketz).
Homemade. Placed in a wooden case covered with checkered fabric, incorporating parts of an atarah from a tallit (late, unskilled work). Two rollers, with brass finials (removable).
Height of Gevil: 20.5 cm, height of case: 31 cm. Maximum height including rollers: approx. 47 cm. Fair-poor condition. Open tears and worming, with significant damage to text. Erased letters. Final column almost completely erased. Parchment repairs on back of scroll. The last membrane is not attached to roller.
