Three works in stone, produced by detainees in Cyprus detention camps. Cyprus, [ca. 1946-49].
Gypsum rock, chiseled and engraved.
1. Ashtray, with vegetal patterns, supported on round base. Inscription, engraved (in Hebrew), on base: "Cyprus."
2. Tabletop stand consisting of round container with lid, and behind this, a groove for business cards. Hebrew inscription, engraved on lid: "Cyprus." Fracture to lid (repaired with glue).
3. Stone object shaped like book. Medallion with Hebrew letters "bet" and "sameh" engraved on front; Hebrew inscription "Cyprus 8/2/1948" engraved on back.
Size varies. Overall good condition. Minor blemishes.
