Three photographed "Shana Tovah" greeting cards dealing with illegal immigration. [Palestine and Poland? Ca. mid-20th century].
1. Greeting card for Rosh Hashana 1946, decorated with the sender's portrait photograph, an illustration of SS "Haganah" and the greeting "A year of free immigration" (Hebrew).
2. Greeting card for Rosh Hashan, decorated with a portrait photograph of the senders and their infant daughter and the greeting "May you be written and sealed for a good year" (Hebrew) alongside a ship with a Zionist flag and beneath it the title "Ha'apalah" (illegal immigration). Handwritten greetings in Yiddish on verso.
3. A Greeting card with Polish greetings for the New Year, "Serdeczne Życzenia Noworoczne", decorated with a flower vase and a photograph of a ship with the greeting "May you be written for a good year" (Hebrew).
5.5X9.5 cm on average. Good condition. Stains and minor creases.
