Griass eng God! [God Bless you]. Fabric napkin with an invitation to a banquet. Vienna, first half of 19th century.
Printed cloth napkin, invitation for men, women, young boys and girls to a wine-banquet on behalf of the men's choir of Neulerchenfeld [province of Vienna], to be held on the week of the Fastnacht on February 23 (no year stated), in the Wustbauer farmer's bar.
In the center of the napkin an inscribed line states "Polish Jews are not allowed to enter". The mayor's initials appear on the napkin, but his full name is not specified.
38X34 cm. Good condition. Few stains. Creases and folding marks. Ink stamp.
