Shaarei HaYichud VehaEmunah, explanation of the Shaar HaYichud VehaEmunah section of the Tanya, by Rebbe Aharon HaLevi Segal Horowitz of Strashelye, close disciple of R. Shneur Zalman of Liadi, the Baal HaTanya. Shklow, [1820]. First edition.
The book opens with an important preface, which serves as a basis for investigating the nature of the Baal HaTanya's school of thought. It states that this book is an explanation, expansion and completion of the teachings of his Rebbe in the Shaar HaYichud VehaEmunah chapters of the Tanya. The book explains at length the Arizal's doctrine, based on the teachings of the Baal HaTanya.
Incomplete copy. [18]; 4; 4, 9-56; 56 (lacking 4 leaves, 57-60, replaced in photocopy); 52 (leaves 21-32 bound out of sequence); 44, [2]; 28, [4] leaves. 15.5 cm. Bluish paper. Good-fair condition. Stains, including dark dampstains. Marginal open tears to title page and several other leaves, slightly affecting text on title page, repaired with paper. Printing defect to one leaf, with loss of text. Leaves trimmed with damage to text in several places. Stamp and handwritten inscriptions. New binding.
