Responsa and Drushim (sermons) manuscript, by Rabbi Avraham son of Rabbi Chaim Hoffenberg of Vaski.
The manuscript includes a signed introduction, an index, sermons and eulogies and “a sermon delivered on the occasion of the victory of the Americans over the Spanish”.
The Ga’on Rabbi Avraham son of Rabbi Chaim Hoffenberg (1853-1929, Otzar Ha’Rabbanim 359), disciple of the Mir Volozhin yeshiva, was appointed to the Vaski (Lithuania) rabbinate in the year 1887, where he served for over forty years. He frequently corresponded with the Natzi"v, the Adere"t and with the Torah giants of his generation. Of all his numerous manuscripts in responsa and in the Drush, the only books which were printed are Kol Ba’Ramah (Vilna 1906), Chidushim in the collection of Knesset Chachmei Yisrael (Odessa 1893-1902) and She’elot Utshuvot [responsa] which were printed in books by other rabbis.
