"Cheshbon Katzar MehaVe'idah HaRabbanit HaPeterburgit..." – report of the great rabbinical conference which took place in St. Petersburg in 1910, by R. Shalom Dov Ber Schneersohn – Rebbe Rashab of Lubavitch. St. Petersburg, 1910. Only edition.
In 1910, the Russian government convened a rabbinical conference in St. Petersburg, attended by the leading rabbis and rebbes, crown rabbis and tycoons, to discuss various important matters pertaining to Russian Jewry. The participants concurred on most matters, though they were in conflict over several topics, especially the question of which, if at all, degree of secular education a rabbi should be required to have. Rebbe Rashab, who was a prominent and outspoken participant at the conference, recorded for the benefit of the public the various questions which were raised, and the different viewpoints presented on each matter. His notes were published in installments in the Jewish newspapers at the time, and in the present booklet.
