Poster issued by the Chief Rabbinate of Palestine calling for synagogue congregations to include prayers in the Sabbath service for the welfare and health of George V, King of England; in honor of the arrival of the new High Commissioner, Sir John Chancellor; and in honor of the Day of Conquest of Jerusalem at the hands of British forces. Jerusalem: Salomon Press, December, 1928.
This poster was printed prior to the Sabbath, on the first day of Hanukkah, 1928. The name of the King ("His Highness George V") and the High Commissioner ("His Excellency Mr. Chancellor") are highlighted in gold, whereas the remainder of the text is printed in blue.
