This is one of the first books printed by Menasseh ben Israel in Amsterdam.
Two parts in one volume.
On the title pages of parts I and II, signatures of R. Yochanan Hirsch Schlank (1815-1884), disciple of the Chatam Sofer and head of communal institutions in Jerusalem.
[2], 53; [1], 25 leaves. 18 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains. Minor wear. Marginal open tears to first two leaves and several other leaves, slightly affecting title page border, with paper repairs (title page border completed by hand). Worming to title page and other leaves, slightly affecting text. Marginal paper repairs to several leaves. Title page trimmed, with slight damage to border. Old binding.
