A portrait photograph pasted on a cardboard card with the details of the photographer printed on the verso: "M. Alex. Rosenthal… a Jerusaleme".
Apparently, Alexander Rosenthal was the son of a Jerusalemite Jew who converted to Christianity. He studied in England and upon his return to Jerusalem, opened a photography studio with M. Martinowicz. Very few photographs by Rosenthal and Martinowicz are known.
