Impressive photo album, souvenir of a journey in Eretz Israel during the summer of 1949.
Album containing 168 photos of the following locations: Jaffa, Emek Yizrael and the Galilee, Haifa, Pardes-Chana,"Ma'abara" in Be'er Ya'akov, Tiberias and the Jordan Valley Kibbutzim, Day of Independence parade in Tel-Aviv, May 4, 1949 ("The parade which did not march"- the parade was cancelled a short while before it began). Acre, Safed, Kerem Hatemanim in Tel-Aviv, The Iraq-Sueidan Police (Metzudat Yoav), Negba, Kibbutz Nir-Am, Beer Sheba, and other sites. Most of the photos are annotated in much detail on the album's leaves (in German) and some are accompanied by a story-like annotation resembling a journey-journal documenting the visit of the couple Zvi and Shulamit (owners of the album) while visiting the country. Size varies, 7X7 – 12.5X12.5 cm. Good condition. Nicely displayed in an album 41X31 cm, worn binding.
